Hello Dear International Readers!
It is not every day, when I publish a post in English, but is there a better time to do it other than now, in autumn, before Christmas. I love Christmas, it is such a special and wonderful time of the year, that’s why it makes me really sad that we are only in the middle of October, and I can’t pass any shops without any Christmas decorations.
We can’t really sit back and enjoy autumn with its vibrant smashing colours, its awesome smell, all the lovely presents it brings like pumpkins and chestnut, quince or medlar. We are already searching for a new idea of a Christmas wreath, a present, a new dress, a new recipe. Simply, we should just slow down and enjoy the moment. It should not be soo hard…
To try to stop the unstoppable a bit, I thought, I show some really fantastic fall wreaths that you can use at your front door or put simply on the table.
Here is mine:
I made this back in Klagenfurt, last fall, and enjoyed immensely. I went to the nearby little forest area to collect all the ingredients. Some, I bought it though, like the apple slices and mini pumpkins. It took all day to stick them on a round wreath form, and when it was ready, I put on some candles or oranges or apples according to the season.
And a few more:
2. The first is a bit unfinished, or not, it is up to you. Something was just so right, and kind of grabbed my attention, when I came across this photo. By the way, I must say that there are so many lovely German blogs, where you can find a wide variety of Kranz (wreaths), as they say in German. Oh I love even the name of the blog, which means- So I live– I think it fits the character of the whole blog perfectly.
3. The next is almost Christmassy with the deer or doe, as you wish. It is a red berry wreath. I could not pinpoint the exact location where it came from, so terribly sorry but I can’t give all the credit in the world to one this time. A huge shout out from me for this mesmerasing beauty.
4. Having used lots of lovely natural pinecones and dried orange and wood slices, and bits and pieces, this wreath also created a wonderful fall theme and feeling and most certainly giving the impression that Christmas is only a step away. Honestly, looking at it, makes me pine for a cup of chocolate or tea, and some crackling of fire.
5. And my plus one, sometimes it is difficult to explain why we find something great while others find the same thing ugly, I think this creation is so fitting to the autumn theme, because it reminds me of passing and fading away. Though they meant it for Christmas, not for me. I read the other day, Milton Glaser’s absolutely incredible quote about design, whose name did not ring any bells, sorry, BUT he said:
There are three responses to a piece of design- yes, no and WOW! Wow is the one to aim for.
For me, whoever did this, the mission was accomplished. WOW!
